Science in Action at Masonville Cove

At Mother Seton Academy, we believe helping students prepare for the future begins long before high school graduation. Career Day is one of the many ways we introduce students to new possibilities, helping them see the many paths available to them and encouraging them to dream big.

This year, students had the opportunity to hear from an incredible group of professionals who shared their personal journeys, career experiences, and words of encouragement. Each speaker brought a unique perspective and showed students that success can take many different forms.

Our guest speakers included Kyndal Baldwin, a Hair Care Specialist; Anthony from Fresh Kicks Sneaker Laundry; Natalie Lawson Epps, Chief of the Parole Division for the Public Defender Service of Washington, DC; Adia Jones, Floral Stylist from Amazing Decor; Craig Joyner, Mother Seton Academy graduate, Division I college football player, and founder of his own clothing brand; and Bryan, a celebrity barber and real estate developer.

Students were able to ask questions, learn about different industries, and hear firsthand about the dedication, challenges, and perseverance required to build a successful career. Hearing from professionals with diverse backgrounds helped students connect classroom learning to real world opportunities and inspired them to think more intentionally about their own futures.

The afternoon brought even more excitement with a special demonstration from Keyon Lomax, an MMA fighter and Brick Bodies yoga instructor. His presentation focused on discipline, physical wellness, and the importance of mental strength, showing students that success also comes from consistency, focus, and self-care.

Career Day is always a favorite at Mother Seton Academy because it gives students the chance to see themselves in careers they may not have previously considered. It reminds them that with hard work, support, and determination, their goals are within reach.

We are deeply grateful to all of our guest speakers for sharing their time, wisdom, and experiences with our students. Their generosity helped make this day both memorable and meaningful, and we know the impact will last far beyond a single afternoon.
