MSA seeks applicants for admissions to enter the sixth grade each fall. All candidates must qualify financially for the federal Free and Reduced Meal Program. Applicants should have strong academic, attendance, and discipline records, plus the desire to excel in middle school at Mother Seton Academy, attend top high schools, and graduate from college. We are not able to accept students with an IEP or special education needs.

Admissions Process

Students who would like to be considered for admissions must complete the following:

1. Attend an open house.
2. Submit a completed application, including review of financial information by the deadline.
3. After applications are reviewed, families are contacted for interviews at Mother Seton Academy.
4. Qualified students are invited to testing at Mother Seton Academy so we can asses the student’s academic strengths and challenges.
5. Students attend a mandatory Saturday School program taught at Mother Seton Academy, where our teachers and administrators get to know all applicants. Students participate in math and reading classes and the Selection Committee reviews which applicants are ready for the challenge of attending Mother Seton Academy.
6. In April, families are notified with a decision about whether a child has been named a finalist, put on a waiting list, or not accepted to the school.
7. Finalists attend a mandatory Summer School program where sixth grade work begins. Students who successfully complete Summer School are officially accepted to Mother Seton Academy and awarded their scholarship.

The following items must be included or completed when applying for admission. Documents are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. The final deadline is February 2, 2026.

• A completed and signed application (Download: English 2026-2027 Application or Spanish 2026-2027 Application)
• Verification of financial need with required documents
• Release of records form for prior school (Download: Release of Records)
• Copy of most recent 5th Grade report card
• Copy of your child’s birth certificate
• A teacher recommendation form submission to your child’s current teacher (Download: Teacher Recommendation Form)
• Copy of your most recent tax forms (1040 or 1040A)
• Copy of your most recent standardized test scores.
