Mother Seton Academy functions as a family and
a haven for a critical population of children. Through an extensive investment made in each
child, Mother Seton's mission is the most effective
I could imagine.

SOURCES OF SUPPORT
Mother Seton Academy utilizes a wide base of community support not only through financial contributions but also with in-kind donations of computers, school supplies, sports equipment, food, books, and other supplies that aid our program. The sponsoring religious congregations contribute financial resources and personnel to the school. A local Catholic school sponsors an annual run for the benefit of Mother Seton Academy each April. Foundations, businesses and corporations, individual donors, and other groups and organizations provide additional support for operating expenses and specific projects. Because Mother Seton Academy is an all-scholarship school, funds must be raised each year to support basic operating costs.
In 1998, the school launched a new annual giving program, the Tapestry Fund. Named to celebrate the diverse members who comprise the Academy family, the Tapestry Fund provides a means for friends to financially support Mother Seton Academy, sharing in the fulfillment of its mission. Gifts to the Tapestry Fund are unrestricted and support the Academy's yearly operating needs, including: academic programs and extracurricular activities, educational supplies, faculty and staff salaries, and facility improvements. Contributions to the Tapestry Fund are essential to the continuance of this faith-inspired work.
SPONSOR A STUDENT
As Mother Seton Academy is a tuition-free program, some donors choose to sponsor all or part of the cost of educating a student each year. A student is matched with a donor and corresponds with the donor during the school year. The cost of educating a student at Mother Seton Academy this year is as follows:
one year at $8,500
one semester at $4,250
one quarter at $2,125
All gifts, regardless of size, are an important investment in the future of Mother Seton Academy and its students. Without the support of many benefactors and sponsors, the school could not provide this much-needed educational outreach for Baltimore children and families.

METHODS OF GIVING
Cash Gifts
The simplest and most direct way to provide immediate support for Mother Seton Academy's programs and services is to make a gift by cash or check.
Pledges
By making a pledge, you may find that you are able to increase the amount of your total gift to Mother Seton Academy. You may choose a payment schedule that meets your own needs.
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds can provide special tax advantages. These advantages can include avoidance of capital gains taxes and a charitable deduction. Making a gift of securities that are held by your broker is relatively easy since they can usually be electronically transferred to Mother Seton's account. You may call the Development office at (410) 563-2833 for transfer instructions.
Matching Gifts
Many corporations offer matching gift programs to encourage charitable giving among current and retired employees and their spouses. Your company may have programs that could double or triple your gift to Mother Seton Academy.
Workplace Giving
Donors may designate Mother Seton Academy through the Combined Charity Campaign (#4569) and the Maryland Charity Campaign (#9201). Through Workplace Giving Campaigns, you are given the opportunity to donate through payroll deduction or a one-time contribution.
Real Estate
Gifts of real estate provide the same advantages of stock gifts. Like gifts of stock, the donor provides a meaningful impact on the school mission, benefits from significant tax savings, and does not suffer any decrease in regular cash flow.
Deferred or Planned Giving Vehicle
Giving through an estate gift provides the donor with a gift of a lifetime. Life insurance, annuities, trusts, or investing through one's will are excellent ways to make a lifelong testimony to an institution that has profoundly impacted your life.
Store Programs
When shopping at Target (target.com/tcoe), Giant Food (www.giantfood.com/aplus), Safeway, Macy's and more (www.escrip.com) and Office Depot (www.school.com), you can designate Mother Seton Academy to receive proceeds from your purchases. You can also log onto each store's Web site to designate Mother Seton. In addition, we are accepting donations of used printer cartridges, toner ink and cellphones. Feel free to mail these items to us and we will receive a monetary gift for each donation.
Internet Searches
Make www.goodsearch.com your search engine and Mother Seton Academy will earn a penny every time you search the Internet.
GoodSearch.com is a search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charity you designate. You use it just as you would any search engine. Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Mother Seton Academy as the charity you want to support.
